Maybe you’ve been volunteering in your local community during the pandemic and want to find a way to continue to support them. Maybe you are new to the area and looking for ways to meet new people in the community. Or maybe you’ve been involved in Scouting before and want to pick it up again. Whatever the reason, Scouting has a role for you, and we need you more than ever.
Young people’s mental health has been profoundly affected by the pandemic, and our programmes to develop skills for life are key to helping build personal resilience. But we can’t do this without an army of volunteers, both working directly with young people (such as a section leader), and behind the scenes (such as quartermaster or fundraiser). If you are a parent whose young person attends our group, you can even help out on an informal basis by volunteering for a parent rota a few times a year.
No previous experience is necessary. We’ll work with you to find a role that suits the skills you have, the ones you’d like to gain, and your availability. You’ll get access to a great training programme, and support from a friendly and experienced Group team. It’s very rewarding and can also be a lot of fun!
If you want to be part of a movement that changes lives and helps children to fulfil their full potential, please come and help us to help more children. Contact us for more information and an informal chat.
